Album 5) The main purpose for this trip was to attend an International conference arranged by Director General, Gender Equality Bureau Cabinet Office, Ms. Mariko Bando. The topic for the conference was Policy Dialog on Gender Equality 2001, with guestspeakers from Japan, Peru, Philippines and Norway. I got the invitation from Ms Bando who I met this Summer in Oslo, and I was this time representing the National Women`s Museum in Kongsvinger. It was indeed exciting and challenging to meet so many National and International key persons who all work for promoting gender equality. I established contacts with different travelagents for handling and organizing technical visit trips. I gave a presentation at the Norwegian Embassy in Tokyo, what is Come2 and what do we do? Click here for more... At the end I had two lovely days up in Sendai visiting friends in Study Norway group. I explored Japanese homestay and hospitality, a great experience and a good inspiration. I really admire the effort of these ladies! Some of my impressions of the Japanese people and their culture.
